For one thing, it's clean. Sparkling, even, in that way that says without words Flynn Scifo was here and he was on a mission. It's been swept clean of dust and needles and branches and spiders, there's new wood stacked by his little pot-bellied stove, and the place is sparkling. There's a candle on the table that Yuri definitely didn't buy.
On the (neatly-made) bed is a little cloth-wrapped package with a note on it, reading: ]
Yuri,
Don't forget you promised to come to class with me! I looked at the syllabi for everything we have coming up, and this should be everything you need.

[ Inside the package are a bunch of books for any classes Yuri has coming up, as well as a black leather pencil case, a matching bookbag, and a bunch of black-covered notebooks. There are also some very nice purple and black pens and pencils.
[ Coming back to his treehouse like this is a little jarring. For a moment, he thinks he's in the wrong place, even though the big blue dog plush is still on his bed. It's too clean, and it's weird, and he doesn't know where some of his stuff is, but there's a feather caught in the door jam and he can't help a little smile even before he reads the note.
It's presumptuous and annoying and charming all at the same time, and Yuri did promise that, but months ago, before camp, before Flynn left, before he came back. Either way, though, he can try it. Why not try it?
He plays with the eraser a little before pulling out his Relic. Flynn's never gotten him anything like this. They never at the money for gifts, before, and his heart feels strange and big and he loves Flynn in a way that hurts, sometimes. It hurts right now, and he isn't totally sure what to say.
Flynn figures that out as soon as he sees thanks there on his Relic, and the swoop of joy that bursts through him is kind of absurd but he's been antsy for days now waiting for Yuri to find it (Yuri has been spending more nights at Flynn's house than not, and that's something else, something that means... more than Flynn is ready to think about. The rooms feel small without Yuri in them. He talks to Raven more).
He got the gift and, hopefully, liked it. ]
There was a wolf-shaped one but it didn't seem appropriate anymore, considering :)
There are so many kinds of magic here! More than we could have dreamed of. The class I want to take is a class on magic without any kind of chant or even a circle or a formula. Imagine how useful if you could simply cast without telegraphing your movements!
Once I master it, we'll have to test it out. Learn something that makes you stronger.
