i guess it appeals to me because its like the knights, but you make your own rules. or, your guild makes it rules, and you can choose if you want to be in that guild and you want to follow them
with the knights, its either youre in or not with the guilds there are tens of them, maybe a hundred there has to be one for me

In other words, if you don't agree with the code and the laws of one guild, you can simply join a different one you do agree with, or, if you can't find one that you agree with, start your own?
It would be a kind world if that was the only rule that was needed. I think there's too much debate about what "be good" means. Laws can't be general that way.
